Drying Your Eucalyptus

by | Jan 16, 2020 | Tips & Tricks | 0 comments

In case you haven’t been able to tell yet, we’re big fans of eucalyptus! We love using it wherever and however we can! It looks gorgeous, smells delicious, and pretty much just makes our hearts happy.

Eucalyptus looks great on its own in a jar or vase or tied in a bundle and hanging on the wall. Drying it is an excellent way to enjoy its beauty for far longer!

To dry your eucalyptus all you need for supplies is:

  • Elastic Band
  • Scissors
  • Twine

Step 1:

Secure the stems with an elastic band. You could omit this and just use the twine, but the elastic band will keep the bunch tight because the branches will shrink a little as they dry.

Step 2:

After securing the elastic band, wrap over the elastic with some twine, tie a knot, and leave a long end for hanging your bunch.

Step 3:

Hang the eucalyptus in a cool dry area for 2-6 weeks, until dry. You don’t have to start this process as soon as you get your eucalyptus, you can keep it in water in a vase for a few days to enjoy its fragrance, once the fragrance starts to dissipate you know it’s time to move on to dry it!
