The DIY Journey
Katie and Ryan decided to go the DIY route for their wedding flowers — and the results were absolutely beautiful. Like so many couples, their wedding plans shifted multiple times during COVID, but instead of letting that dampen their spirits, they turned it into an opportunity to get creative and hands-on.

Here’s what Katie had to say about her experience:
Do you have any tips for others considering DIY wedding flowers?
“Google will be your best friend. Watch videos, find pictures, scroll through flower inspo pics until you find arrangements you’re in love with. Then it’s easier to start looking for florists that can match the vibe you’re looking for! Also, recruit help day of! DIYing your bouquets is such a fun and relaxing way to spend your wedding morning chilling with your best girlfriends and family!”
I couldn’t agree more with Katie, creating your own wedding flowers can be such a special part of the day, especially when you share it with the people closest to you.
Why did you decide to DIY your wedding flowers?
“With having to replan our wedding 3x due to COVID, we needed to save some money on things we could try to do ourselves. Find an amazing florist like You Floral to answer any and all questions you have about storing and arranging and it’ll be another memory from your special day to look back on.”
I love this! It’s exactly what You Floral is all about… helping couples bring their vision to life while keeping things budget-friendly and stress-free.
Did you DIY anything else for your wedding?
“We also DIY’d our wedding signs and easels.”
Such a great way to add personal touches throughout your day.
What was the theme of your wedding?
“Our theme was romantic boho.”
The romantic boho style is one of my favorites! Soft textures, natural greens, and an airy, the vibe that pairs perfectly with a mountain backdrop.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
“Our favourite part of our wedding day was how intimate and small our wedding ceremony was, and the feeling of knowing that we’re now married to our best friend.”
Okay, cue the happy tears — that answer just melts my heart.

Katie’s Floral Choice
For their flowers, Katie chose the Eucalyptus & Lace DIY Wedding Package from You Floral, one of our most popular options for romantic, timeless weddings. The focus was on soft white blooms paired with lush eucalyptus greenery, which looked incredible against the Banff mountain scenery.
This package is perfect if you love a classic, romantic look with a touch of boho charm. The eucalyptus gives it that relaxed, natural texture, while the white flowers keep everything elegant and cohesive.
Katie’s Review
“It was such a pleasure working with Sarah at You Floral! We ordered flowers for our wedding in July and she was so helpful with all of her tips on storing and handling the florals. Unlike large companies, her responses were personalized and she always responded quickly! I would absolutely highly recommend her.”

A Perfect Mountain Celebration
The combination of the mountain views, romantic florals, and intimate atmosphere made it such a special day.
