DIY DRIED FLOWER WREATH KIT INSTRUCTIONS

In this blog I’m going to show you how to make a wreath using dried florals, you can use any type and even experiment with drying your own using flowers from your own garden!

Why Should You Make a Wreath?

  1. The first reason to make a wreath is… its so fun!
  2. Its super easy to make your own wreath, especially if you’re using dried flowers, it lasts for years so you can enjoy it as boho decor throughout the year
  3. It saves money! Its way cheaper to make your own wreath rather than buying it from a store

Step 1 – Get Ready and Gather Supplies!

You’ll need:

  • Gold Hoop
  • Floral Tape (I used green in this video, but in future (hindsight) I would use white instead)
  • Florals (I used dried pampas, bunny tails, phalaris, and buttons)
  • Ribbon (any type will work!)

If you’re using pampas, blow dry it on hot first, to get it nice and fluffy! Make sure you do this outside as the pampas tends to shed when its exposes to the rushing air.

Step 2 – Create Mini Bundles

First create a bundle of dried flowers that’s about 6-8 inches tall (Use about 4 pieces of pampas, with about 7-9 embellishments per bundle). Use a variety of florals and stagger their heights for interest (I’m using about 5 different dried florals in my bundle including pampas grass). Once you’ve made mini bundles, tape them together using floral tape (pull the tape gently to activate the glue). You’ll need about 10-12 dried bundles total.

Step 3: Affix the Bundles

Tape the mini bundles to the gold hoop, placing them halfway down the hoop.  Tape your next mini bundles slightly lower than the first bundles (overlapping the first bundle slightly), so that the second bundle is hiding the floral tape. Make sure that you tape it on well!

Step 4: Continue layering

Affix the mini bundles over each other, working your way towards the bottom of the hoop. As you get to the bottom of the hoop, you’ll want to make the bundles smaller. Once you get to the end, you’ll be left with a gap, which you’ll cover with ribbon (dried option). If you’re using greenery, criss-cross your last two bundles so they form an ‘x’ and tape them onto the hoop to fill in the gap. You can do this with the dried option too if you aren’t into ribbon.

Step 5: Ribbon Up!

Once you get to the bottom, you’ll know you’re done when you only have about a one-inch gap between bundles. To finish it, tie on the ribbon, looping it around the hoop, to hide the tape.
