Sarah & Brian’s Wedding – Squamish, BC

There’s something so special about bringing your own creative touch to your wedding day, and Sarah did exactly that for her beautiful celebration in Squamish, British Columbia. Set against the stunning coastal mountain backdrop, Sarah and Brian’s wedding felt effortlessly natural, a perfect mix of modern minimalism and boho charm.

Why Sarah Decided to DIY Her Wedding Florals

When it came to floral design, Sarah knew she wanted something unique and personal.

“We went with DIY mostly because I couldn’t find anything that was exactly what I wanted, and I wanted to do some parts of our wedding myself! We were also able to give away some of the grasses to guests as a thank you 🙂”

Sarah’s decision to DIY her florals wasn’t just about saving money — it was about creative freedom. She wanted her arrangements to reflect her personal style and vision, blending airy neutral tones with natural, textural elements. By designing the florals herself, she was able to create arrangements that felt both intimate and meaningful.

And how sweet is that detail about gifting the grasses to guests? It added such a thoughtful, sustainable touch — a keepsake from the wedding that everyone could take home and enjoy.

Their Floral Order

To bring her dreamy, minimalist vision to life, Sarah curated a simple yet elegant selection of dried and fresh elements from You Floral. Each piece complemented her natural wedding theme beautifully.

Here’s what she used:

The soft gray carnations added subtle color and texture, while the mix of eucalyptus created a lush, aromatic base. The bunny tails, foxtail grass, and pampas added that signature boho flair — light, airy, and romantic. Together, the combination created a timeless, organic look that perfectly suited their Squamish setting.

Sarah’s Review

“You Floral made getting florals for our wedding one of the most stress free parts of the whole event! Super easy to order, great communication and customer service, and everything arrived looking amazing!”

A Simple, Stunning DIY Wedding

Sarah’s wedding is the perfect example of how DIY wedding flowers can be both simple and stunning. By choosing versatile, easy-to-work-with florals like eucalyptus, pampas, and grasses, she created a cohesive look that felt elegant yet laid-back — just like the breathtaking mountains surrounding her ceremony.

Her story is such a beautiful reminder that with a bit of planning, the right materials, and a dash of creativity, anyone can craft their own dream wedding florals.
