How To: Make Beautiful Taper Candles with Pressed Flowers!

These pressed flower candles are so beautiful, a great way to bring nature into your home! They are surprisingly easy to make and look so stunning that everyone will be shocked you DIY’ed them yourself! Its no secret that we love flowers, and candles just go hand and hand with flowers, so this is a great combo! You can use flowers from your yard, or purchase them… lots of options! So lets get to it… Here are the easy steps to create your own pretty pressed flower candles.

Step 1: Melt The Tea Candle

You’ll be using the tea candle as the “glue”, so light it, and wait until it has melted and the wax is warm. It’ll take a few minutes for the wax to begin to pool. I put down some scrap paper to protect my table from inadvertent drips.

Step 2: Set the Flower in Place

Because you have to work quickly in this project, I find it helpful to have an idea already of where I want to put the flowers. Be careful of your fingers that you don’t burn them with the hot wax!

Step 2: Seal The Flowers Onto the Candle

Carefully dip your paintbrush into the tea candle, into the pool of wax (if you have kids helping out, this needs adult supervision!). You’ll have to work quickly, so that the wax doesn’t cool down here too much. You’ll take the paintbrush (dapped with hot wax) and use it to dab/spread it onto the pressed flower, against the taper candle. The wax acts as a glue, and seals the flowers onto the candle. Complete this step until the flower is completely attached to the candle. Continue with the same approach until you have your desired amount of flowers

Tada!

This is one of the easiest crafts I’ve done, but you wouldn’t even know it by looking at it! I hope you enjoyed learning how to easily make your own pressed flower candles in just a few minutes. Get in touch if you have any questions!
