Emily & Nick

Vancouver Island Wedding

The Lesages

Emily and Nick were married at Olympic View Golf Club near Victoria BC in a beautiful wedding ceremony in spring 2024. I asked Emily a few questions about her DIY experience, and her answers are all below – happy reading!

Reason why you decided to DIY

– DIY was a cheaper option and the idea of putting everything together with family and friends sounded like a lot of fun! All of my bridesmaids and immediate family are from out of town/province so to be able to spend a few days leading up to the wedding preparing the flowers was a great way to get more time in with them.

Tips for other folks who might DIY

  • Be organized, make sure to have lots of space and lots of help and use ALL of the information that you (Sarah) gives – the phone call with you was very helpful in figuring out numbers and knowing what supplies I needed to be successful. We all watched all of the youtube tutorials together as we went through the process which was a great help as well!

Planning inspiration

  •  I used pinterest to know what sort of a colour scheme I wanted but mostly the pictures that you have on the website under the package I bought really sold it for me.

Their review:

  • We loved the process of putting together the flowers ourselves. I think they turned out pretty good! And we definitely had enough for what we wanted. I wrapped my bouquet with the cut off cuff of my mom’s wedding dress and loved the way it looked!
