Unwrapping Your Flowers
Step 1: Count your bunches as you unpack them. If anything seems off, contact us right away.
Step 2: Remove any leaves that will fall below the waterline of your containers. Be gentle to avoid damaging stems — removing submerged foliage helps prevent mold or bacteria that can cause wilting.
Step 3: Trim about 1 inch off the stems at an angle using pruners (not scissors), and immediately place the flowers in fresh water.
Allow at least 4 hours for hydration (some flowers may take up to 12 hours). Check water levels frequently, as freshly cut flowers can drink a lot.
Use enough buckets so stems aren’t crowded — roughly 3–4 bunches per bucket.
You don’t need a fridge; a cool, dark place like a basement works well. To encourage blooms to open faster (especially slow ones like carnations), place them in a sunny spot.
Quality & Freshness
If your flowers look a little tired after unpacking, follow the regular care steps (fresh cut + clean water). They usually perk up within a few hours.
If not, reach out to us and we’ll help immediately.
Please note that flower colors may vary slightly — natural variation is part of their beauty!
A few stems may arrive broken or imperfect; this is normal when handling fresh, live products.
Rose-Specific Care
Roses are carefully packed in two layers for protection. You’ll see 12 stems on top, but a second layer underneath holds the remaining 13. (Garden roses are packed in 10-stem bunches.)
We ship roses in bud form — they’ll open beautifully within 1–2 days after hydration.
Keep guard petals on during shipping; they protect the blooms. When you’re ready to arrange them, gently remove those outer petals to reveal perfect roses underneath.
Leave the cardboard sleeve on for 2–4 hours while hydrating to support the blooms. After that, remove it and move the roses to a sunny spot to open fully. If you want to slow the opening, store them somewhere cool and dark.
Once they open up, there’s no going back — so time it with your event!
