Kira & George’s Vancouver Island Wedding

There’s something incredibly special about a wedding that truly reflects a couple’s personality — and Kira & George’s Vancouver Island celebration did exactly that! From their sentimental details to the most creative floral touches, this day was overflowing with love, joy, and a few unforgettable personal touches.

A Personal Floral Twist
Kira and George used our Eucalyptus & Lace Bridal Party Package, but they added one of the coolest, most meaningful elements we’ve ever seen in a wedding bouquet… garlic scapes!
Since they’re garlic farmers, they decided to include their own crop as a way to personalize their arrangements — such a fun and symbolic idea! The result was both unique and deeply personal. To complement the soft greenery and creamy white blooms, they also incorporated a touch of navy blue reed accents for a subtle pop of color.

The DIY Floral Team
When it came to arranging the florals, Kira’s friend and sister-in-law took charge… and believe it or not, it was their first time ever doing flowers! They absolutely nailed it. The bouquets and arrangements looked stunning, perfectly balancing elegance with a relaxed, homegrown charm.
The ceremony was held at George’s grandparents’ property, while the reception took place on their own farm (yes, the same one where they grow garlic!!). It couldn’t have been a more meaningful setting.
Keeping the Florals Fresh
To make sure the flowers stayed cool and the roses didn’t open too early, Kira and George got super creative — they turned their office into a makeshift floral cooler!
They ran the air conditioning, covered the windows, and kept it dark to preserve the blooms. The girls even wore jackets inside while everyone else outside was sweating in the summer heat! The little roses (spray roses) were kept in another room so they opened up and once they did put them in the office, Kira said, “It smelled amazing in there!.”
A Touching Tribute

In a bittersweet moment, Kira and George’s beloved golden retriever passed away unexpectedly just before the wedding. Their pup was supposed to carry the rings down the aisle, so to honor her memory, Kira had a special charm made and wrapped it around her bouquet. It was a beautiful, heartfelt tribute that kept their sweet dog close throughout the day.
